Our meetings are held at the Westdale United Church which is located at 1509 Sherbrooke (Woodglade and Sherbrooke).
We meet once a month on the third Tuesday of the month. Most of the time our meetings are at 7:30pm (doors open at 7:00pm), however in January and February we meet at 2:00pm (doors open at 1:30pm). The start of each year is in September and we do not meet in July and August.
The club is entirely run by the club members who volunteer their time and energy to make the club successful. The club would not exist without the volunteer efforts of the members. All members are encouraged to find some aspect of the club that they can help with.
No, the Peterborough Newcomers are not religious. We are a completely non-denominational, non-political and non-profit organization.
Our annual dues are $ 20.00 per person. The amount of the membership is reviewed each year by the Executive of the club.
Additional expenses may be incurred by a member choosing to attend special group events like a Peterborough Petes game or participating in monthly group activities like bowling, crafts, movie nights or luncheons.
You can be a member of the Peterborough Newcomers for up to three years. After that, you may join the Alumni Club for as long as you like.
When you belong to the Peterborough Newcomers, you join an instant fellowship of people just like you who have moved to a new city and who want to make new friends and create a new social circle. Belonging to the club makes it easy to get to know people and form friendships that can last your lifetime. There are many people who have been members of the Newcomers organization for 25 years or more, who still have special friends that they met when they first joined.
